Chile: A Country that Builds Beyond Its Borders

Returning to Chile this week felt like much more than a business trip — it felt like reconnecting with a place that shaped part of my professional journey. I have a deep respect for the clarity, discipline, and outward-looking spirit that define so many Chilean enterprises.

Throughout my meetings with entrepreneurs, non-bank lenders, infrastructure developers, and investment professionals, I was reminded of what makes Chile unique: a commitment to building beyond its borders. Like Swiss companies, Chilean firms understand that real scale is not achieved by relying solely on the domestic market. Instead, they focus on refining competitive business models that can succeed globally, and on leveraging excellence and innovation as the foundation for sustainable growth.

At Apu Capital Advisors, this mindset resonates deeply. Our mission is to help mobilize capital where it can do the most good — to support companies and initiatives that drive inclusion, sustainability, and long-term resilience. In Chile, these values aren’t just talked about — they are embedded in the way business is done, and in the ambitions of those leading the country’s next chapter.

What struck me most this week was the openness of every conversation. Whether we were discussing ways to finance renewable energy projects, improve access to affordable housing, or support SMEs through innovative lending structures, I found a shared commitment to build with purpose.

I am grateful to all the friends, former colleagues, and new partners who welcomed me during this visit. The ideas we exchanged have only strengthened my conviction that Chile is not just ready for the future — it is helping to shape it. And at Apu, we are excited to contribute.
