Brazil: Scale, Sophistication, and Impact
Spending this week in São Paulo — the Manhattan of Latin America — has been both energising and humbling. The sheer size of Brazil’s economy, its urban dynamism, and the intensity of ideas moving through its financial capital are unmatched in the region.
From fintechs and alternative lenders to developers, investors, and innovators across energy and infrastructure, the conversations I’ve had reflect a country that is deep, diverse, and determined. Brazil doesn’t just have scale — it has ambition, structure, and the institutional depth to deliver long-term transformation.
And yet, what struck me most — as always — is something else: the spirit. Brazilians bring warmth, creativity, and good humor into every conversation. This is a culture that takes the work seriously, but never forgets to make room for levity, connection, and celebration.
At Apu Capital Advisors, we believe finance should aspire to that same balance: to combine rigor and purpose with humanity and hope. We work to mobilise global capital into places where it can catalyse inclusion, resilience, and innovation — and few places are better positioned for that than Brazil.
I’m grateful to everyone who welcomed me this week. Brazil has everything it needs not just to grow — but to inspire.
