When I set out to create Apu Capital Advisors, it wasn't just about building another financial advisory firm. It was about unlocking possibility - harnessing global capital to uplift Latin America's most promising opportunities and transforming them into engines of sustainable growth, innovation, and social impact.
I often reflect on this mission when I look at the photo that headlines this post - an image I captured of two Andean condors soaring effortlessly across a vast sky. I took that photo after crossing a mountain pass nearly 4,800 meters above sea level, trekking through Peru's sublime Huayhuash range. I was exhausted, the air was thin, and every step had been hard-won.
When the condors appeared, I could have seen them as a bad omen - after all, they're vultures by nature. But in that moment, I felt something entirely different: wonder and blessing. They reminded me that even after great struggle, life offers moments that affirm the effort and carry us forward. Apu Capital was named intentionally - Apu means 'mountain spirit' in Andean culture. We embrace the idea that the greatest journeys are uphill, demanding commitment, strength, and vision. But they also humble us, reminding us how small we are beside nature, and how much greater the view - and the impact - becomes when we pause to perceive the wonder of the world around us.
